My wife was having a heck of a time trying to weigh pasta. Noodles could be weighed in a bowl using the Tare setting. Long noodles kept sliding off. First version was made by cutting a toilet paper tube in half and gluing it together. Second was using some CorPlast sign material and making an interlocking X shaped unit. This also has the advantage of coming apart for storage or could even be mailed to someone in an envelope.

All that is needed is a flat material that's somewhat sturdy and food safe. Corrugated like a pizza box, balsa wood, thin plywood, Masonite could all work. I found the CorPlast like what is used for political and real estate signs is light and holds it's shape.

Simply cut out two rectangles that are long enough to fit on the weighing platform of your scale. Cut out a slot the width of the material with scissors or hobby knife in each one and fit together like in the third photo. Last picture also shows version one in use. Happy Noodling!
