Basic Slayer Exciter Mini SSTC Battery



While trying to build a SSTC I discovered that I could create something very simple, using a Buck converter. No interrupter, No Gate Drive, Single Mosfet.

1 x IRF250P n MOSFET
1 x Small LED
1x 670 nf 400 volt Capacitor
1 x Heat sink
Circuit Board
Buck Step-up converter DC-DC 12-80 Volt 500 watt
backup fuse 8 amp
Power 12 Volt 7 amp battery

Construct Coils
Primary Wire 2mm,5 Turns Wd 55mm
Secondary .1mm 1200 Turns
Secondary no cross overs or kinks, immediately gloss when completed.
Primary to be constructed on PVC as shown in image.
Build Circuit


Follow the circuit diagram.
A very simple circuit connected directly to the Buck Step-Up output.
Tune



Tune the coil
Important !
You will not increase the Arcś without the correct primary secondary tuning.
The Buck step up must be set to 20 volts for tuning the primary connection.
I used the third turn however this may may differ so tap the primary and test to find the best output.
Turn the 500 ohm pot until the spark discharge is longest.
Buck converter Switching
Buck Amps also need to be adjusted 2-3 amps. 20-80 volts and not far from the slayer exciter input.
In truth, I didn't expect the buck to last forever, switching high current and voltages, it's not designed for this,
But its still working.
SAFETY NOTE: Please do not attempt to recreate the experiments shown unless you are familiar with High Voltage Safety Techniques!
Next add the interrupter circuit to my design.
