Round Dining Table Made From Bowling Alley Wood

This table can seat 5 to 6 people comfortably.

Get Some Bowling Alley Wood

This might be the deal breaker. I was lucky enough to have someone give a bunch of it to me for free!

Make It Round

Of course you don't have to make it round if you don't want to. I had to add a bunch of strips to complete the circle.

Secure the Sides

The top of the base is shown here just to verify it would be big enough. You can attach the extra boards in many ways; I chose screws.

Sand and Finish

Sand the crap out of it starting at 80 grit and working down to 220. I used several coats of poly shade and then more coats of regular poly for the finish.

Slap It on a Base

You could find a base you like or make one yourself. I made this one from free plans found at woodgears.ca. Just make sure the base is sturdy. That baby weighs a ton. Actually about 0.1 ton.
