Protect and Silence a Door With a Vintage Nail and Sugru
We stayed in a lovely airbnb that had loads of awesome vintage touches.
The owner had protected her bathroom wall from the door handle with a lovely old brass nail.
I thought it was pretty awesome but unfortunately the door makes a terrible sound every time it hits the nail !
I wanted to protect the door and to make it quiet.
The best shape to do this was a pyrimid - the pointy tip flexes and makes the door bounce back best, and that in turn makes it nice and quiet.
The project demonstrates how a small piece of sugru can solve this problem and create a lovely quiet door that no longer gets damaged or makes a racket when it closes. I love it!
The next day, I tested the door and it sounded great :)
